YAKIMA, Wash. — Central Washington’s baseball team has been picked to finish second in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference’s preseason coaches poll.

Northwest Nazarene was third, followed by Montana State Billings and Saint Martin’s.

Last season, the Wildcats were 30-21 overall, including a 20-12 GNAC mark. Central has five returning all-conference players, including West Valley graduate Kevin Walkenhauer. The others are Michael McCanna, Derek Shoemaker, Frank Donangelo and A.J. Gosney.

Central opens play Feb. 13 with a doubleheader at Cal State Stanislaus.
