Regional times set

February 22, 2009 by

Eisenhower’s first loss of the season in Friday’s district championship had a clear impact on their regional situation. The Cadets, with the CBBN’s No. 2 seed, are in the same semifinal bracket as Spokane champ Gonzaga Prep and that showdown would be Friday at 7 p.m. when the tournament moves to Kennewick’s Toyota Center.
For the time being, however, Ike (22-1) starts with a home game Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Wenatchee (15-9). In their lone meeting, Ike prevailed 67-48 on Dec. 9.
Davis (10-14), the CBBN’s No. 6 seed, has a 7:30 p.m. opener at raging hot Walla Walla (17-6), which went 3-0 at district. The Pirates start later than the standard 6 p.m. slot because Wa-Hi is hosting a girls-boys doubleheader.
Tuesday’s openers
Game 1: Wenatchee (15-9) vs. Eisenhower (22-1), 6 p.m.
Game 2: Richland (14-9) at Gonzaga Prep (20-2), 6 p.m.
Game 3: Lewis & Clark (13-10) at Pasco (16-8), 7:30 p.m.
Game 4: Davis (10-14) at Walla Walla (17-6), 7:30 p.m.
In the 3A boys regional, CBBN No. 2 seed Sunnyside (10-11) hosts GSL No. 3 Mt. Spokane (8-14) in a loser-out opener Tuesday at 6 p.m. West Valley’s boys and girls, both with top seeds out of the CBBN, are off until Saturday when they visit Rogers of Spokane for semifinal games at 3:45 p.m. (girls) and 7:15 p.m. (boys). For full regional brackets, see John Crawford’s website.
