Columbia Basin sweeps Yakima Valley

YAKIMA, Wash. — Showing why they’re ranked No. 1 among NWAACC baseball teams, Columbia Basin thumped Yakima Valley 16-6 and 20-5 in an Eastern Region doubleheader Wednesday at Parker Field.

The Hawks amassed 35 hits while improving to 8-2 in region play and 26-4 overall. YVCC fell to 3-7 and 11-16.

Darrell Ceciliani led CBC in the opener, going 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI. In the second game, Davis Johnson was 3-for-5 with a homer, two runs batted in and for scored.

Saby Martinez was a combined 3-for-6 and homered in each game for the Yaks.
