Local Report: Filliol, Carlson, Chang advance at Junior Championships

YAKIMA, Wash. — Top-seeded Alexis Filliol of Yakima advanced to the quarterfinals in the girls 18 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Hailey Campton of Vernon, B.C., to open the Yakima Valley Junior Championships on Monday at the Yakima Tennis Club.
Unseeded Jeff Carlson and third-seeded Abe Chang of Yakima both advanced to the quarterfinals in the boys 18 singles.
Carlson defeated Boris Rosenburg of Isaquaah 6-1, 6-2 while Chang defeated Troy Patterson of Wenatchee 6-1, 6-2.
Claire Bohoskey, Paige Toop and Chloe Goyette of Yakima all advanced to the semifinals in the girls 12 singles.
