It’s Sunfair week

  This is a big week in Valley preps with the Sunfair cross country meet set for Saturday, but before we look ahead I’d like to thank all the coaches who were patient with our situation over the weekend. Without phones, e-mail or web access for much of Saturday due to the power outage downtown, we were forced to gather information via other means — like me dashing home — and that left our local roundups a little sketchy in some areas. We got phones back late in the evening, tied up some loose ends and then followed up the next day with what we missed. Thanks for hanging in there everybody.

  On to this week. At the end of the usual heavy days — Tuesday, Thursday and football Friday, Sunfair awaits on Saturday as the centerpiece of the cross country season. Below is the latest state coaches poll and teams in bold are slated to attend. For a full list of teams and other info, see www.sunfairrun.com.

BOYS

Class 4A — 1, Jackson; 2, Ferris; 3, Gig Harbor; 4, Kamiakin; 5, Southridge; 6, Skyline; 7, Auburn Riverside; 8, Redmond; 9, Curtis; 10, University. Others: Issaquah, Wenatchee, Mead.
