Davis 50, Hanford 17, FINAL
RICHLAND, Wash. — David Trimble had what Davis coach Rick Clark called “a Charles Woodson-esque type night,” and the reference to Michigan’s 1997 Heisman Trophy winner didn’t sound all that outrageous considering Trimble’s heroics during the Pirates 50-17 victory. In helping Davis to its highest single-game scoring output since 1964, Trimble had two interceptions, one of which he picked off with one hand while tiptoeing along the sideline to stay inbounds and then returned 50 yards for a touchdown. He also caught a touchdown pass and had a two-point conversion reception.

Trimble’s interception was one of three long defensive touchdowns for the Pirates, who also got 50-plus-yard fumble runbacks for scores by Jose Martinez and Sebastian Hunt.

The Pirates (2-7) will host Chiawana on Thursday at Zaepfel Stadium.
