J.D. Moss’ 7-yard touchdown catch from Tyrell Cronin early in the fourth quarter pulled Goldendale into a 13-13 tie, but the Timberwolves missed the extra point for the lead. | ENTIAT, Wash. — Taylor Morris and Paul Oursland provided an abreviated but devastating 1-2 punch on the ground as Kittitas cruised in its regular-season finale.
Morris ran just six times, but collected 110 yards and two scores, while Oursland’s eight carries produced 122 yards and three scores. Morris, whose scoring runs covered 3 and 9 yards, also added a defensive touchdown, returning an interception 36 yards. Oursland scored on runs of 45, 27 and 7 yards. Kittitas (8-1) will take the league’s No. 2 seed into the 2B state playoffs and will host a first-round game on Saturday. The Coyotes await the winner of Tuesday’s Mossyrock-South Bend game, which determines that district’s state berth. |

White Swan (8-2) will open state play Saturday on the road against the winner of a Tuesday mini-playoff involving Asotin, DeSales and Waitsburg-Prescott. Two of Oliva’s TD strikes went to Alex Sampson and two went to Heath Owens. The latter had six receptions for 120 yards. The Cougs reached the Class 1A first round in 1991 and 1993, and last season advanced to the Class 2B quarterfinals. |
