BASKETBALL: Youth Basketball of America is hosting the Sweethearts and Hoops basketball tournament for boys and girls in grades 6-8. It will be held Valentines Day weekend — Feb. 12-14. Cost is $220 per team, with the entry deadline Feb. 4. Mail entry checks to P.O. Box 675, Yakima, Wash., 98907. • The Harrah Panthers mini basketball camp for boys and girls in grades kindergarten through sixth will be Jan. 27 at the White Swan High School gym. Grades K-3 will be instructed from 5 to 6 p.m., and grades 4-6 from 6 to 7 p.m. Entry forms need to be returned to Mrs. Sanchez or Mr. Blakney by Jan. 22.

• Registration has started for a 3-on-3 basketball league sponsored by the Toppenish Parks and Recreation Department. Games will be played on Sundays, starting Feb. 1 and ending on March 28. Entry fee is $200 per team, which can have a maximum of four players, and the entry deadline is Jan. 28. To register or for more infomation, call 509-865-5150.

• The Toppenish Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a 3-on-3 basketball tournament June 5-6. There will be divisions for middle school boys and girls, high school boys and girls, open men and women, high school coed and open coed, with a maximum of eight teams per division. Middle and high school students much show proof of which school they attend. Cost is $100 per team, and the entry deadline is May 26. For more information or to register, call 509-865-5150.

FOOTBALL: The Yakima Valley Grid Kids Association will be having their monthly board meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday at the YVGKA warehouse. Coaches and parents are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Adrian Johnson at 509-910-5942.

SLEDDING: Yakima Parks and Recreation will be taking a trip to Shoqualmie Pass to go snow tubing Monday. Boys and girls in grades 5-8 are invited to participate. The cost is $45 for city residents, and $54 for non-residents.
