Zillah 5th at Pacific Coast

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Champions Chris Castillo and Nathaniel Deardorff led Zillah to fifth place in Saturday’s 32-team Pacific Coast Invitational at Hudson’s Bay High School.

Castillo dropped to 152 pounds and went 5-0, and Deardorff was 4-0 in the 215 bracket.

The Leopards, easily the highest-placing 1A school in the tournament, also had two other championship finalists as Skylor Davis and Kane Koerner were runners-up at 130 and 189, respectively.

Zillah placers

103: 8, Jessy Gonzales. 130: 2, Skylor Davis (4-1). 152: 1, Chris Castillo (5-0).  171: 8, Kyle Kluever. 189: 2, Kane Koerner (4-1). 215: 1, Nathaniel Deardorff (4-0). 285: 7, John Myers.
