YVCC men prevail 79-55

YAKIMA, Wash. — Sparked by a 52-point first half, Yakima Valley’s men rolled to a 79-55 victory over Wenatchee Valley in NWAACC East Region play Wednesday at Sherar Gym.

The Yaks (5-3, 11-9) harassed the visitors into 27 turnovers with Caden Skelton collecting five of YVCC’s 17 steals. Skelton also had 10 points and four assists.

Jordan Kidd connected on 7 of 13 shots for a game-high 19 points  for the Yaks, who held Wenatchee Valley to 28.6-percent shooting.

Yakima Valley was whistled for 25 fouls and three players fouled out, but the Knights converted only 14 of 33 free throws.
