Wellpinit fourth in tournament

WAPATO, Wash. — Seven different players scored in double figures, led by Preston Wayne’s 16 points, as Wellpinit defeated Seattle 103-87 in the fourth-place game of the 55th annual Yakama National All-Indian basketball tournament Saturday night.

Pendleton, Ore., defeated Lawrence, Kan., 104-76 to take fifth place.

The Yakama Bucks played the Wisconsin Rapids in Saturday’s championship game, with Port Madison meeting Tulalip for third place.

Neither game was reported by press time.
