Baseball: Seattle Luth. hands Colfax first loss

YAKIMA, Wash. – Conner Mullan and Keegan White drove in three runs apiece as Seattle Lutheran downed previously unbeaten Colfax 10-6 for the Class 2B state baseball championship Saturday at Parker Field.

It was the first baseball title for the Saints (21-1). Colfax (25-1) had claimed Class 1A crowns in 2002 and 2003.

Mullan was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a triple and also scored three runs. White was 2-for-4.

Seattle Lutheran led 4-3 after three innings, then scored two in the fourth and three more in the fifth.

J.J. Robinson and Tanner Gay drove in two runs each for the Bulldogs.

DESALES 9, MOSSYROCK 3: At Parker Field, Brandon Arrelano had three RBI and Matt Wujek scattered seven hits and fanned nine as the Irish (21-4) claimed third place.

Robby Nelson and Anthony St. Pierre had two hits apiece for the fourth-place Vikings (16-6).

Almira/Coulee-Hartline triumphs

Dylan Tipps was 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBI as Almira/Coulee-Hartline beat Colton 8-3 for the Class 1B state baseball title Saturday at Parker Field.

Kody Dillon pitched a four-hitter with eight strikeouts for the Warriors (14-7), who won their first state baseball championship.

Andrew Tietjen had two hits and an RBI to lead Colton (12-12).
