Rec Notes: Strikers win SeaTac Cup

YAKIMA, Wash. — The Yakima Sun City Strikers ’99 McCurdy won the U-11 boys Silver Division of the 2010 HPFC SeaTac Cup soccer tournament Aug. 20-22 at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila.

The team won all five of its games by a combined score of 27-4, including a 5-0 shutout of Blackhills FC from Olympia in the championship game.

Strikers forward Lorenzo Lopez was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, and goalie-midfielder Shawn Dawley-Abeyta was named Most Improved Player.

Other players are Alfonso Cuevas, Mateo Fernandez, Dylan Greene, Jonas Hildebrand, Lincoln Holland-Boone, Dawson Kallevig, Anthony Lopez, Marques Morales, Jordan Munguia, Lucas Oncinas, and Shae Sandlin. The coach is James McCurdy.
