Local report: Rojas, Younker both win two races this weekend

Owen Riddle took second on both Saturday and Sunday in the Super Late Model races at the Yakima Speedway to maintain his points lead with one race left in the season.

Kelly Mann took first place in Saturday’s Super Late Model race, and Peter Harding finished first on Sunday.

In the Bump to Pass series, Peppie Rojas won both races, and in Pure Stocks, Jay Younker won both weekend races.

College Soccer

Wildcats lose in double overtime

SAN FRANCISCO — Carly Bliss scored the lone goal of the game for San Francisco State University in the second overtime to lift the Gators past Central Washington, 1-0.

Freshman goalkeeper Kori Butterfield kept the Wildcats in the match by holding San Francisco State scoreless until the fifth minute of the second overtime. She finished with five saves.

Bliss scored on an assist from teammate Nicole Vanni, as her shot was just over the reach of Butterfield. The goal was the first for the Gators against Central in over 323 minutes, dating back to 2006.
