Prep boys basketball roundup: Pascal’s free throws lift Zillah past Goldendale

ZILLAH, Wash. — Derrell Pascal’s two free throws with 3.5 seconds left capped a 9-0 closing finish and lifted Zillah to a 54-52 victory over Goldendale in SCAC West boys basketball Tuesday night.

Pascal scored Zillah’s final four points and finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Pascal tied the game on a basket with about 40 seconds left, and then converted after being fouled in the closing seconds.

Jordan Foley scored 26 points and had 11 rebounds for Goldendale, which led 52-45 with just under three minutes to play.

 

RIVER VIEW 54, MABTON 51: At Mabton, Wash., David Flores led a balanced attack with 12 points, and River View held on as Mabton missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer that would’ve forced overtime.

Josh Sanchez had 17 points, and Alex Reyna 11 for the Vikings.

KENNEWICK 55, WEST VALLEY 47: At Yakima, Wash., Bryce Leavitt, Reggie Clinton and Domach Domach combined for 39 points, and Kennewick rallied in the fourth quarter.

Jalen Peake had 17 points, and Jason Dresker 13 points and six rebounds for West Valley, which led 36-35 entering the final period.

 

HANFORD 60, SUNNYSIDE 43: At Sunnyside, Wash., Israel Manzo had 12 points, and Greg Spini 10 for Sunnyside, but Hanford used a 40-26 second half to overcome a halftime deficit.

 

CBBN 4A

WALLA WALLA 53, EISENHOWER 37: At Yakima, Wash., the Cadets outscored Wa-Hi 26-21 in the second half but could not overcome an 11-point first half.

Tony French led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed six rebounds in Ike’s season finale.

 

NORTH CENTRAL 2B

RIVERSIDE CHRISTIAN 75, WATERVILLE 37: At Waterville, Wash., Tucker Jones put together 13 points and 15 rebounds and Sterling Haas collected 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Crusaders.

 

KITTITAS 62, ENTIAT 32: At Kittitas, Wash., Michael Dohrman had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, Kyle Grindrod added 10 points and five steals, and Isaac Johnson had seven points, eight rebounds and five assists for Kittitas, which raced to a 36-10 halftime lead.

 

GREATER COLUMBIA 1B

BICKLETON 42, TROUT LAKE-GLENWOOD 36: At Bickleton, Wash., Jay Jay Bates had 11 points, and Justin Roberts added nine points and 10 rebounds as Bickleton rallied for its first league win.

Slater Modrich’s 10 points led TLG.

 

NON-LEAGUE

SUNNYSIDE CHRISTIAN 58, DESALES 34: At Walla Walla, Wash., Trevor Wagenaar put up 28 points and Brandon Broersma collected 16 points and five blocks as the fifth-ranked Knights improved to 12-6 overall.
