Local report: Selah finishes 2nd at regionals

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Selah went 1-1 on Sunday to finish second at the 18-U ‘B’ Regional Tournament at Ramsey Park.
Selah defeated the Lewiston Perfect Storm 13-4 in the semifinals before falling to the Northwest Athletics 3-2 in the championship game.
Against Lewiston, Cheyenne Fletcher had five RBI, while Ashley Wilkey went 5 for 5 at the plate.
Against the Athletics, Fletcher and Mary Graf drove in runs for Selah.

YOUTH BASEBALL
Upper Valley All-Stars win at state
ARLINGTON, Wash. — Powered by home runs by Cameron Walker and Taylor Logan the Upper Valley All-Stars defeated Mercer Island 6-0 on Sunday at the Washington State Junior All-Star Tournament.
Walker combined with Nolan Cookson on the mound for the shutout, allowing only one hit.
Upper Valley’s next game is scheduled for Wednesday.

JRW wins consolation final
SEATTLE — JRW & Associates, behind a no-hitter from Dave Drotzmann, defeated Rose City Merchants 8-0 in the consolation championship game at the 51st Seattle Invitational.
Josh Spry went 2 for 3 with two RBI for the Associates, while Casey Feist had a two-run triple.
Linescores were not available.
AUTO RACING
Riddle second in Montana 200
KALISPELL, Mont. — Naches’ Owen Riddle finished second at the Montana 200 on Saturday at Montana Raceway Park.
Riddle led the first half of the race, before eventual winner Shane Mitchell passed him just after the halfway break and drove to the $15,000 payday.
Riddle earned $5,000 for his second-place finish.
Jeff Jefferson finished ninth overall, while his brother Jason ended up 12th. Mike Longton came across the line in 21st place.

Fricke wins Pro Mod match race
WAPATO, Wash. — Todd Fricke of the Tri-Cities defeated Tom Burke of Yakima in a Pro Mod match race on Saturday at Renegade Raceway.
Fricke ran a low elapsed time of 7.42 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph to earn the victory.
