Local report: Franks earns regional honor

YAKIMA, Wash. — Hillary Franks, a Central Washington senior from West Valley, has been named to the NCAA Division II West Region all-star third team in soccer.
A defender, Franks was joined on the squad by Wildcats teammates Carson McKole, who was named to the second team, and Amy Pate, who made the third team.
The teams were selected by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
PREP WRESTLING
No. 7 Chiefs top Davis
Rallying with five straight wins, seventh-ranked Moses Lake beat Davis 43-24 in CBBN 4A wrestling Wednesday night at Davis Gym.
The Pirates built an 18-7 lead through the first six matches and still led 24-16 before Moses Lake’s closing run.
Davis won three of four matches in Saturday’s Olympic Dream Duals, placing third while also winning the sportsmanship award. The Pirates defeated Klahowya (58-18), Heritage (44-28) and Hudson’s Bay (44-30) and fell to third-ranked Graham-Kapowsin (43-23).

Central-Western on TV on Jan. 18
Central Washington’s men’s basketball game at Western Washington on Jan. 18 will be televised live on ROOT Sports.
The Wildcats and Vikings, who play in Ellensburg on Feb. 18, will meet on live television for the third straight year. The tipoff at Western’s Sam Carver Gymnasium is scheduled for 7 p.m.
ROOT is the Bellevue-based cable home of regional sports teams including the Seattle Mariners, Seattle Sounders FC, the University of Washington, Washington State and Gonzaga.
