Swimming: Rams’ Hausken stellar in 100 back

ELLENSBURG, Wash. — West Valley freshman Kian Hausken posted the top qualifying time in the 100-yard backstroke during Friday’s preliminaries at the Class 3A district boys swim meet at Central Washington University.
Central Washington’s Aquatic Center is hosting all three Eastern Washington district meets, which conclude with finals today. Events begin at 11:30 a.m.
Hausken clocked 58.74 seconds in the 3A 100 back as the Rams swept the top three prelim times.
In the 2A-1A meet, Prosser sophomore Will Burgett recorded the top time in the 100 breast with a Valley best 1:01.45.
Eisenhower’s Jacob Hino (4A) and Naches Valley’s David Whitmore (2A-1A) lead their respective diving competitions after eight of 11 dives.
