CLACKAMAS, Ore. — Chris Walker’s two-run double highlighted a six-run second inning and helped the Yakima Valley Pepsi Pak to an 11-7 victory over Crater Lake, Ore. on Sunday and third place in the Clackamas Wood Bat Invitational.

The Pak had dropped a 7-5 semifinal decision earlier in the day to Lake Oswego, Ore.

Against Crater Lake, Walker drove in four runs total while Hugo Lemus plated three and Steven Wagar two.

The Pak (30-13) hammered out 14 hits, which in part enabled them to survive six errors. Ben Wells pitched the first six innings with Koleman Johns closing.

Earlier, Yakima Valley rallied in the bottom of the seventh against Lake Oswego, closing to within two runs on Nate Sorensen’s RBI double. Wagar, however, was thrown out at the plate on the play.

Wagar and John Piper had two hits each in that contest.

The Pak returns to Central Washington League play Tuesday at Carlon Park with a 6 p.m. doubleheader against the Yakima Pepsi Beetles.
