Selah advances to Summer Select semis

NEWBERG, Ore. — Cheyenne Fletcher hit a grand slam in the first game and Carly Minnick and McKenzie Zerr were dominant pitchers in both games as Selah went 2-0 in Saturday’s play at the U-18 Summer Select fastpitch tournament.
Fletcher’s grand slam came in a 10-2 win over the Portland Red Hots and supported Zerr’s three-hitter. Fletcher finished the day 4 for 7 with four runs and six RBI.
Minnick threw a four-hitter in an 8-1 win over the Woodinville Reign. Selah plays in today’s semifinals at 11:30 a.m.

QB Club monthly luncheon Monday
YAKIMA, Wash. — The Yakima Monday Morning Quarterback Club will hold its monthly luncheon at the Clarion Hotel, 1507 North First Street, on Monday at 11:30 a.m.
Lunch service will be available, and the public is invited.
