Local report: Allen scores 6 as Yaks roll

YAKIMA, Wash. — Katy Allen, a sophomore from Eisenhower, erupted for six goals and three assists to lead Yakima Valley Community College to a 12-1 victory over Wenatchee Valley on Wednesday.
Allen had three goals and two assists in the first half, which the fifth-ranked Yaks led 8-1. Teammate Elizabeth Figueroa finished with two goals and three assists.
Yakima Valley moved to 8-4 in the East Region and 10-5-1 for the season. The Yaks host unbeaten and top-ranked Walla Walla (12-0, 16-0-1) on Saturday at noon.

Blue Mountain outlasts YVCC
PENDLETON, Ore. — Fifth-ranked Blue Mountain needed all five games on its home floor to outlast Yakima Valley in a East Region clash Wednesday night.
The Yaks rallied from an 0-2 deficit but eventually fell 25-21, 25-23, 18-25, 20-25, 15-10.
Tori Farias put together 19 kills and 19 digs and Raini Weaver contributed 14 kills as No. 7 YVCC moved to 6-5 in the East and 19-9 overall. The Yaks play at Big Bend on Nov. 2.

Thorp sweeps Easton
THORP, Wash. — Christina Price’s triple-double of 13 kills, 10 aces and 17 digs led seventh-ranked Thorp to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-13 win over Easton in North Central 1B play Wednesday night.
The Tigers (7-2 in league) close out league play tonight against Wilson Creek.
