NWAACC news: Farrington steps down at CBC, Schurman hired as volleyball coach at Tacoma

June 28, 2012 by

Steve Farrington, former Washington State head baseball coach, has resigned at Columbia Basin after four seasons with the Hawks.
Chris Staton, a former CBC player, has been named his successor.
Farrington is a science teacher at Richland High School and said the Hawks need a coach who works on campus. He said he plans to resume coaching.
Athletic director Scott Rogers used an emergency procedure to get Staton hired for recruiting purposes, according to the Tri-City Herald.

And at Tacoma Community College, athletic director Carl Howell has announced the hiring of former Central Washington standout Rachael Schurman as the Titans’ volleyball coach.
Schurman, from Spokane’s Mead High School, was an all-American at CWU during her 2005-2008 career, and later assisted head coach Mario Andaya.
