Sportsyakima.com among nation’s 10 best

January 7, 2011 by

YAKIMA, Wash. — The sports website for the Yakima Herald-Republic — sportsyakima.com — was honored this week as one of the top 10 in the nation by the Associated Press Sports Editors.

The site improved on its honorable mention of a year ago, cracking the top 10 for sites with 500,000 or fewer unique monthly visitors.

News producer TJ Mullinax and sports copy editor Marcus Michelson lead the maintenance and updating of the site which features several blogs, a Pigskin Picks contest, the Grill the Readers weekly prep trivia contest and Prep Insider — a weekly video with prep editor Scott Spruill and sports editor Jerrel Swenning breaking down the week in high school sports.
