Prep roundup: E-burg, Selah earn share of CWAC mat title

YAKIMA, Wash. — Ellensburg and Selah both won their final conference matches of the season Friday night to earn a share of the CWAC dual-meet title with Othello.

Ellensburg defeated Toppenish 42-28 while Selah topped Quincy 45-23 in Friday’s makeup finales.

Ellensburg, Selah and Othello all finished 8-1.

The CWAC district tournament will be held Feb. 3-4 at Ellensburg.

Whitmores set career bests ||

ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Naches Valley brothers Daniel and David Whitmore placed 1-2 with career-best scores in the Class 2A-1A division of a Central Washington League diving meet on Friday.

Daniel Whitmore scored 313.10 and David Whitmore recorded 303.75 — both well above the 280 state-qualifying standard.

Eisenhower’s Ian Kinney and West Valley’s Sean Wilkinson placed fourth in the 4A and 3A divisions, respectively.

The district meets will be held Feb. 3-4 at Central Washington University.
